Los Angeles may not be the most outdoorsy city in the west coast but we can get to wonderful places in less than two hours.
This March we discovered Cross Country Skiing In Big Bear. Rim Nordic Ski Area, 5 miles east of Running Springs, on the way to Big Bear Lake, in the San Bernardino Mountains across from Snow Valley Mt. Resort. Base elevation is 6775'. With expert trails climbing to over 7000' and 12km of groomed trails for classic and accessible terrain.
